Captain Evans is a U.S. Merchant Marine–licensed captain who grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan during the early days of the salmon boom. He learned the craft from some of the area’s most respected anglers, a foundation that still guides every trip today.
Now he shares the helm with his son Brent, running CatPack Sport Fishing with a focus on safety, steady hands, and a genuine love for the lake. Their goal is simple: give every guest a relaxed, memorable day on the water.
The CatPack is a Lund Sport Angler — a clean, stable platform built for Lake Michigan. It’s outfitted with high‑end electronics, including FishHawk, Smart Troll II, and Garmin LiveScope, so we can stay on fish and adjust to changing conditions throughout the day. Powered by Mercury engines, plus a dedicated trolling motor, giving us quiet control and steady precision to dial in the bite. The layout keeps the deck clear and comfortable while we troll, and everything on board is maintained with the same care we bring to every trip.
